I had been wanting to visit the Rosé Mansion for a while but had never gotten the chance. I mentioned this to my friend last August and in an hour we booked the tickets and went the next day! There’s so much to take in when you’re going through the exhibit so I wanted to write about my experience so that you can be better prepared if you go too!
What is the Rosé Mansion?
The Rosé Mansion is a wine tasting experience that teaches you the process of creating Rosé while going through multiple rooms set up to take pictures in. It’s essentially an ‘Instagram experience’ like the Icecream Museum.
You’ll start the tour receiving a wine glass and you get to go through different rooms that showcase the wine you’re offered and the different stages of wine production. The wine glass you’re given is recyclable at the end of the tour but I personally kept mine. (A week later I also accidentally put it through the dishwasher rip)
The Tour
So there are about 5 different rooms to walk through to learn about the process of making Rosé. Each room has a wine tasting and is decorated according to its specific theme.
The Lab
After you go through your ‘boarding’ for the Rosé Mansion you’ll find yourself in a cute laboratory set where you learn some fun facts about the process of fermentation. This was the first room that had a tasting. The sample was a dry wine.
After you set foot in the lab there’s a really cool hallway filled with small spaces with different colored lighting. Each room had a different scent to it. It was a really cute and spacious area to take photos in.
Egypt
The next tasting was in an Egyptian themed room. We learned the process of winemaking dating back to when Cleopatra was alive and tasted a wine similar to what she would have had. I loved learning about the process and I thought it was a really cool opportunity to drink something Cleopatra would have. I also really liked the wine sample. It was more of a red wine than a Rosé but still really nice.
The next few rooms were really interesting. One covered winemaking methods from upstate New York and another covered different wine tasting methods. The wine tasting room was really interesting because it used the combination of sour candy and wine to create a completely different taste than the original wine.
Wine Quiz
The next room was my favorite from the entire experience. It was decorated as if it was a 50’s boardgame and you walked through it to learn your taste preference. Mine was sweet wine and it was my favorite wine I got to sample too!
Other Rooms
Other rooms in the Rosé Mansion included a beautiful Parisian inspired powder room and a nice ‘outdoor’ area with vines on the walls and bathtubs filled with rose petals. I wish I had gotten more photos of these areas because they were so beautiful (these two were the reasons I wanted to check out the mansion) but a lot of the people in my group took too much time taking their own photos and I didn’t get the chance to get any decent pictures. It felt like I had waited forever to just take a boomerang for Instagram but I was glad that I had gotten that.
As fun as taking photos was, noticing how self-absorbed most of my group was really upset me. I completely understand that events like this are meant to be photographed but they’re also meant to have fun with friends and I think a lot of people forget that now.
The Last Room
After walking through the outdoor area there is a birthday like set up with sprinkles confetti and a ton of decorations. This area was really cute and I really liked the art on the walls.
When you leave this room there’s a fun ball pit before the gift shop. I’m not one for ball pits but my friend was so I went in with her. I’m glad I did though because afterward, an attendant gives you a cute Rosé Mansion pin to commemorate your visit!
After The Rosé Mansion
When you leave the tour area there’s a really nice layout to stay and grab drinks, should you choose. They served a wide list of wine and tacos as well. My friend and I weren’t looking to spend too much money so we opted to just take photos around the space instead. This could be a nice option if you went with a group of people, you can even rent out a cabana, but my friend and I weren’t looking to do that.
My Overall Experience
I had a really great time but something I learned is that experiences like this also depend on the people you’re with. I’m sure it all depends on who gets placed into the group you go through the tour with but the people I got grouped with were really rude which affected the time myself and my friend had. Its obvious a lot of the museum is meant to be photographed for social media, which can be really fun, but it’s also about having a great time with friends too. If you choose to go, just have fun with it! Enjoy the wine and the fun times with your friends!
