Christmas is tomorrow and what better way to celebrate than to tell you what I love doing during the holidays! This month has been a little hectic but I tried not to let that get in the way of enjoying the winter season. I made a checklist on my Instagram of things I like to do for Christmas and I wanted to share more on that here as well. Here are my favorite things to do during the holiday season (quarantined edition)!
Watch Movies
I love watching Christmas classic specials and my guilty pleasure is watching all of the Rankin & Bass ones. They’re so odd but so comforting because I’ve watched them ever since I was a kid! My personal favorite is A Year Without A Santa Clause. It always used to play while I got gifts for my family at my School’s pop up Christmas shop which is one of my favorite memories as a kid!
Bake Cookies
If you’ve seen my Tiktoks or Instagram stories you’d know how much I love baking during the Christmas season! It’s one of my favorite ways to de-stress during this time of year. The Pillsbury Christmas sugar cookies are my favorite to bake because they’re simple and taste great! I also like to play Christmas music while I bake and recently I’ve been playing this youtube video on my tv because its a great compilation of songs with a cute fire background.
Decorate
Decorating in general is a fun hobby of mine so getting to decorate for Christmas is a wonderful time! My family has decorations we’ve been using since I was a kid and I love putting them up. Some of my favorite decorations are our Christmas village and this new mirror I found at JoAnn Fabrics that I used as a tray! Decorating for the holidays never fails to put me in a good mood.
Gingerbread Houses and Hot Chocolate
Fun activities like making gingerbread houses and having hot chocolate when its cold out are always fun during the winter! This year I made my own hot chocolate bar and it was fun to mix and match flavors and marshmallows. I was on the hunt this year for those cute marshmallows and hanging gingerbread men for my hot chocolate but couldn’t find any in store. I did find these cute Smashmallows though and they were great! My combo was toffee nut hot chocolate with peppermint marshmallows and it was actually really good!
Christmas Lights
I love driving around and seeing the Christmas displays around town. My family in Michigan gets to see a beautiful display at their park but while I’m at home I can at least drive around my neighborhood! This one house in my neighborhood does the most every year and I love it! I put a clip of their house in my latest tiktok so be sure to check it out to see! They definitely deserve to be on the Great American Light fight.
Being With Loved Ones
Whether its in person or over zoom, spending time with the ones you love always makes Christmas extra special! I wish you all a lovely Christmas and Happy Holidays this season!
