While it’s very clear no one should be doing any traveling right now that doesn’t mean we can’t bring our favorite places to us! I thought of some places I’ve either wanted to visit or miss visiting and decided to make a list of some fun staycation plans we can all make while at home. Check them out below for some fun activities you can do by yourself or with friends & family too!
When you want to visit the Beach
Right around now is when my family would be planning our first trip down the shore but instead I want to try to bring the beach to us! If you have a backyard this is a great staycation for you. All you need is an inflatable or small pool, some sunscreen, and a bathing suit! You can also buy some sand to put around the pool but that’s just optional. A lot of places are selling inflatable pools online right now and you could even snag a pool float while you’re at it too. My personal favorite is this one it’s so cute and the second I get a pool I’m buying it!
When you wish you were in Rome
When in Rome why not try making your own pasta? I’ve always wanted to visit Italy and take a cooking class but for now I have Pinterest recipes, wine, and a cheesy playlist to hold me over. Speaking of which if you aren’t already following my Pinterest you can do so here!
I’ve seen a ton of different recipes online and there are all various pasta types so I’m going to leave the kind you want to make up to you. When your noodles are done you can try to make your own sauce too, if not my go-to right now is this, it should be in your local grocery store. This staycation could also be a great date night too!
If you can’t make your own pasta no worries. Try ordering or making your favorite pizza instead and put on a movie that reminds you of Italy! My personal favorite is the Lizzie McGuire movie, sing to me Paolo.
When you’d rather be looking at paintings in Paris
One of my all-time favorite things to do in Paris is to visit the Musee d’Orsay. It’s such a beautiful museum and houses some of my favorite paintings like Starry Night Over the Rhône. Thanks to Google you can now have a mini staycation and take a virtual tour of this museum here! What’s even better is now you can feel free to ‘walk’ the museum with a glass of wine too.
If you’re thinking this museum might not be your scene don’t worry there are so many others you can tour too all around the world, just give Google Arts and Culture a look and see which one you’d like! My second favorite would be the Van Gogh museum, a shocker I know.
